Position Summary

The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily production, safety, compliance, and operational performance of the Memphis facility. This role ensures efficient manufacturing processes and regulatory compliance while maintaining the highest standards for safety, quality, and environmental responsibility.  The Operations Manager will lead production teams, coordinate cross-functional activities, and ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, DOT, EPA, and local regulatory requirements governing chemical manufacturing, storage, and distribution.

Key Responsibilities

Operations & Production Management

• Oversee daily plant operations including chemical production, blending, packaging, and distribution activities.

• Develop and execute production schedules to meet customer demand while optimizing labor, equipment utilization, and throughput.

• Monitor operational metrics and drive improvements in production efficiency and

throughput.

• Identify and implement process improvements, Lean manufacturing initiatives, and cost reduction strategies.

• Ensure proper maintenance and operation of all production equipment and facility infrastructure.

• Coordinate with supply chain, procurement, quality, and logistics teams to ensure uninterrupted operations.

Regulatory & Compliance Management

• Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local regulations related to chemical manufacturing and distribution.

• Ensure compliance with DOT regulations related to hazardous materials shipping, labeling, packaging, and documentation.

• Maintain compliance with EPA environmental regulations, including waste management, chemical storage, and spill prevention requirements.

• Ensure proper SDS management, chemical labeling, and hazard classification in

accordance with regulatory requirements.

• Support regulatory audits, inspections, and reporting requirements.

Safety & Environmental Management

• Promote and enforce a strong safety culture across the facility.

• Ensure employees follow safe chemical handling, storage, and disposal procedures.

• Lead incident investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective actions.

Team Leadership & Development

• Lead and supervise production supervisors, technicians, and plant personnel.

• Establish clear expectations for performance, safety, and accountability.

• Provide coaching, training, and professional development opportunities.

• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance management of operations personnel.

• Foster a culture of teamwork, communication, and operational excellence.

Quality & Continuous Improvement

• Ensure compliance with quality standards, product specifications, and batch

documentation requirements.

• Support quality assurance processes including inspections, audits, and corrective actions.

• Improve plant productivity, reduce waste, and increase operational efficiency.

Perfil

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or a related field or equivalent experience.
  • 5+ years of experience in operations or manufacturing leadership, including direct people management.
  • Strong knowledge of production management, safety, quality, and labor management.
  • Proven ability to lead teams, manage change, and drive results in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Strong communication, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.
